Tens of thousands of people marched on several kilometers, braving the rain on Sunday, 25 August, in the 12th week of continuous protests in Hong Kong.

A protester spreads detergent on the asphalt in front of the barricade in order to make it more slippery, ahead with a clash with the riot police. Other slippery materials like eggs were also used. After preparations were done and intimidation shouting heat the spirits, the protesters charged for around 20 meters pushing the whole barricade on the slippery asphalt, bringing them in a range of around 30 meters from the riot police, where they started the direct clash by throwing bricks and Molotov cocktails. This new strategy, put in place on Sunday, allowed the protesters to efficiently attack the riot police and hold the barricade for a longer time.
